My time management is out of sync. Well, maybe that's not exactly the problem, it may be that i don't have any time to manage!! That sounds more realistic. For some reason I'm not sleeping at night, and that aggravates me to death. I have absolutely no problem falling asleep, because I do that regularly before I see my favorite show...........but then at 3 I'm wide ass awake, thinking this is ridiculous!!!
I remember hearing my Mother and her friends talk about not sleeping, so I guess it's a woman/age thing. And in some respects i guess it doesn't matter WHEN you sleep as long as you sleep. So if I fell asleep before my Dancing with the Stars show last night, then that means I slept for 2 hours before I actually went to bed at 10. Then slept from 10 to 3, so all together I had 7 hours of sleep...........WHY AM I COMPLAINING?
I had a day off yesterday for Veterans Day. I made 8 Cream Cheese Roll Cakes for Darlene's market, baked a birthday cake, attended the Veterans Day ceremony at 2, came home and decorated the Duck Hunters cake and piled up in the recliner with a blanket.........so I guess it was a good productive day, except I didnt' get any house work done, the floors need mopping, the laundry is piling up! hahah And I'm saving money like crazy, but I need time to go to the grocery store......for something besides cake stuff! haha
Christmas is fast approaching and I'm thinking,,,,,,,,,where will I find the time to actually go shopping?? Much less time to decorate, wrap, or do all the necessary stuff to prepare for the holidays. Every year I think, whew, I wished it would just pass me by.................one year, I'm gonna be ready for Christmas................even though that hasn't happened in 54 years, I guess there's always hope.
Here's the Duck Hunter cake. Not bad. I used the paint brush icing technique and I thought it turned out pretty good.
It's for Staff's step dad, Chuck Poff. I have a baby shower cake to make before Sunday. Jennifer, Eddie's daughter, is having a baby shower and so I'm re-doing a cake I made when I first started decorating cakes.

I had hoped Amy would go to the shower with me but I guess she's not going. I can't miss it, because this will be another grandchild, but then that means I get to spend the afternoon with the OTHER side of Eddie's family and I'm sure I'll stick out like a sore thumb. Jeannie will surely be all her bubbly self, announcing to everyone this is her ex husbands wife and her old friend. Ugh...hopefully Mrs. Ferrell will be there and she is MY mother in law now so I can sit with her maybe. In between Jeannie slobbering all over her to reestablish her position in the family. Oh well, maybe I can stay a few minutes and then go Christmas shopping afterwards..........
Now that's an idea! I'm taking off to go to the shower, so i can use that day to shop. I'm feeling better already! haha
Amy is going out of town next week. Betty is staying with the kids on Monday night, Emily is taking them Tuesday night, I'm staying Wednesday night and Emily will take them on Thursday night. So it wont' be too bad. I just hate for her to be away from the baby for a week. Bless his little heart! It also means I'll have to get Josie to school, and pick her up from school and make sure dinner is ready and that they actually eat, do homework, take showers and be ready for getting them off to school the next morning!
We are having Thanksgiving at Emily's house this year. So I think I'll just spend the night on Wednesday night and get up early and bake the Turkey and Dressing and since we are eating at 11 I should get home early enough to relax.......I HAVE THE FRIDAY OFF AFTER THANKSGIVING......... I'm going to see to it, that I have NO cakes to bake that weekend......so I can tend to my housework and Christmas decorating.........even though i intend to keep that to a minimum this year.
Ok, that's it folks. Hope you've enjoyed the rambling.

I love love love the cake! I dont think it looks like a beak at all!! I think it looks perfect! Which cake are you redoing for the shower, the blanket one??? I love that one! Wish I was in town, I could go with you to the shower and then we could leave early and go shop.... I would love to... I need to hurry up and have some kids so you can move with me and take care of them! hahahaha
it isn't that you don't have any time to manage - it's that you don't have any time off to manage... even when you don't work your day job, you work just as hard at your cake business or the bartending business.
and i think i like cacey's idea... i'm fairly certain there would be respect in that household.... although you could come to texas and live with me - nobody comes here to visit so you'd be safe hahahaha
love you
