After several hours of tedious basket weaving, I have accomplished what I set out to do. I made a beautiful white wedding cake that has yummy strawberry filling. Won't the guests be surprised when they cut into the cake!!! With these red and white roses, it will be even more gorgeous.

They brought me the topper made and I concocted a saucer to hold the wet spongy thing holding the flowers. I know that stuff has a name, but I'm not much of a flower designer, so I'm not well versed at it. I guess I'm hoping I have some sort of skills with flowers since I'm left to make the flower arrangements for the other two layers. I'll play around with them in the morning. I can't put them on until I get the cake to the reception. So I'm afaid it's going to be a crap shoot! haha Wish me luck.

So here's the what it took to make this cake!
6 batches of batter
10 sticks of butter
8 pounds of confectioners sugar
18 eggs
6 jars of All fruit jam
6 pkgs of strawberry jello
9 cake boards (i tripled them for stability)
blood, sweat and tears 17 hours
Cost of supplies $56.74 Charged for cake $100.00
Yes I know it's not enough, however, this is a cake for a good friends son's wedding, they are on a limited budget and I'm sure to get more orders from this.

Let me know what you think........here's a couple of pics!
